"Queen Bee of Clubhouse" The dictionary definition of "queen bee" does not exactly fit Janett Thomas, but a leader she is. Janett has served from the inception of our club in many different jobs: steering committee, board member, interior painter, identifing needs for special clubhouse touches like shades and extra chairs, and the list goes on. In addition to all that, she coordinates our clubhouse maintenance. That means she has organized our "worker bees" for clubhouse cleaning and kept us all supplied with the very important paper products in the clubhouse. We "worker bees" are a bit envious of the "queen bee" because she is superior, in tennis, that is. Thanks, Janett, you are the best!

Great News from USTA, including a Grant for QuickStart! Recently KTP was accepted by USTA into the COMMUNITY TENNIS ASSOCIATION (CTA). This is an honor bestowed on a select number of clubs by USTA. This will give the club and its members many benefits as well as recognition and expansion opportunities within the USTA organization. By becoming a CTA member we were able to be a part of USTA's "Quickstart" Kids Tennis Program, a nationwide program that introduces kids to tennis and shares our love of tennis. USTA has a "SHARE THE LOVE" grant program offered to all QuickStart clubs. Our recent application resulted in an award of a grant of $1,200 to purchase equipment for our QuickStart program! This is the largest amount awarded to any club in the state of Florida. This is because our program is run strictly by volunteers and our club's committment to this program. Our club defines what a community is all about.
